Canada invites One million new immigrants

Canada invites One million new immigrants in next three years.

Nearly one million new immigrants will settle in Canada next three years.  As per the latest update by the Canadian Government on Immigration the Target has set to invite one million new immigrants in upcoming three years and stated that majority of new economic newcomers set to immigrate through the Express Entry immigration selection system. Under the plan 310,000 new permanent residents will settle in Canada in 2018 and will be increased to 330,000 newcomers in 2019, with a further 340,000 to settle in 2020.

Express Entry

Express Entry is now the main driver of economic immigration, with more Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued so far this year than over the two previous years together. The increased target intake for Express Entry candidates in 2017 was a contributory factor towards a decrease in Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off thresholds was low as 413 for Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and 199 for Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC).   The projection shows that target increases 4% in 2018, 9% in 2019 and 5% in 2020 in each year. Experts analyzed that, increased target intake in upcoming years May leads to further decrease in lower CRS cut-off thresholds.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) allow provinces and territories to nominate individuals based on their ability to settle into the provincial. As result of increased intake, provinces made dynamic approach to their Express Entry-aligned PNP streams. For example, Ontario has targeted candidates in certain occupations, notably in Information Technology (IT). Saskatchewan has expanded its in-demand occupations list, Nova Scotia recently reopened its popular Express Entry ‘Demand’ stream, and British Columbia launched a Tech Pilot, with certain IT/tech occupations prioritized through its streams, including its Express Entry stream. The province of Quebec will welcome 94,000 skilled workers and business immigrants over the next three years.

Canadian immigration in 2018

In 2018 42% immigrants will be admitted from Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), 16% from Quebec Skilled worker & business, 31% from PNPs and 9.6% from Caregivers. The overall economic picture shows that Express Entry is set to be the main source of economic admissions in 2018. Around 21.9% of Canada’s population is now made up by immigrants. Don’t wait and miss the chance of becoming a Permanent Resident of Canada in 2018.
